While his determination never wavered, Dillon faced a significant barrier, <\/span><em style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">exam anxiety<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">, which impacted his performance and confidence in formal testing environments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<h5 id=\"viewer-67xom319\" class=\"V5x2J T-jvd PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"E07CK\">The Challenge<\/span><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block8\"><span style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">Despite a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, Dillon struggled to demonstrate his knowledge under exam conditions. His first five attempts at the exam reflected this, with his highest score being 41, just <\/span><em style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">one mark short<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\"> of a pass. The pressure of testing environments often overwhelmed him, leading to heightened stress and underperformance.<\/span><\/div>\n<h5 data-hook=\"rcv-block9\"><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">Support and Intervention<\/span><\/h5>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-sr0l7527\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">Recognising Dillon&#8217;s potential and the impact anxiety was having on his performance, a bespoke support plan was developed. This included:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<ul class=\"PFjnR PuKmT\">\n<li class=\"_0x2oV\" dir=\"auto\">\n<p id=\"viewer-nt7qz333\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">One-to-one face-to-face support sessions, tailored <em>specifically <\/em>to Dillon\u2019s needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"_0x2oV\" dir=\"auto\">\n<p id=\"viewer-7086a337\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">Focused strategies on managing exam stress and building confidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"_0x2oV\" dir=\"auto\">\n<p id=\"viewer-5sfjv340\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">Practice under low-pressure conditions to simulate the exam experience gradually.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"_0x2oV\" dir=\"auto\">\n<p id=\"viewer-0izmh343\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">Continuous encouragement and feedback to reinforce his strengths.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-n4g6b345\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">Dillon remained committed throughout, engaging fully with the support offered and demonstrating resilience even when faced with setbacks.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<h5 id=\"viewer-my5ge347\" class=\"V5x2J T-jvd PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"E07CK\">The Breakthrough<\/span><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-3okdt832\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">After his <em>fifth <\/em>attempt, where he narrowly missed the pass mark, Dillon attended a final face-to-face session that helped consolidate both his subject knowledge and mental readiness on 8th April 2025, he sat the exam for the <em>sixth <\/em>time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">The result? A fantastic score of <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">53 <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">&#8211; a clear pass!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<h5 id=\"viewer-4rszb358\" class=\"V5x2J T-jvd PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"E07CK\">Outcome<\/span><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hook=\"rcv-block22\"><span style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">Dillon\u2019s success is more than a number; it\u2019s a testament to perseverance, the power of tailored support, and the importance of recognising individual learning needs. His journey highlights that exam anxiety <\/span><em style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">can <\/em><span style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;letter-spacing: -0.0125rem\">be managed, and with the right strategies, learners can overcome even the toughest of barriers.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p id=\"viewer-ons4o2836\" class=\"EY0Xg W2aKK PuKmT YjabP\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"_1Kc57\">Here&#8217;s what his <strong>employer <\/strong>had to say: &#8220;As both a mother and an employer, I find Dillon\u2019s journey incredibly inspiring.
